To enlarge our membership globally and co-ordinate activities related to gastrointestinal pharmacology, in particular drug development workshop, symposia and conferences in the field. Membership will not be restricted to pharmacologists, and will be expanded to related disciplines, including gastroenterologists, pharmacists, physiologists, surgeons and professionals working in pharmaceutical industries.
To encourage collaborations between basic and clinical research and between institutions across the globe in terms of visiting professors and exchanging students in order to enhance academic, research and clinical interactions.
To promote our international image and influences in drug development and translational research for gastrointestinal diseases.
To provide pharmaceutical companies a platform for dialogue with scientists, pharmacists and medical doctors for better medicines in the treatment and prevention for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver.
To teach our young researchers and medical doctors, and also those working in pharmaceutical industries, in the forms of lectures and workshops both locally and globally.
